Title:  Clergy & Diocesan Employee Background Checks

1.  It the policy of the Diocese of South Dakota that a background check by the Oxford Document Management Company of Minneapolis, MN is required of all clergy persons and Diocesan employees before being approved in or appointed to any position in this Diocese by the Bishop.

 2.  The “Province I Model” shall be used for the background check.  In addition, a credit check, criminal records check, and driving records check shall also be completed.  Reports of all such background checks shall be kept in the Bishop's office.

 3.  A credit check by Oxford Documents shall also be required of all clergy persons and Diocesan employees moving from one position to another within the Diocese that requires relocation.
